The name “Lysspiration” came from a username generator because I wanted a new Instagram handle. I thought it was a perfect combo: Lyss + Inspiration = Lysspiration. While it may not have had much meaning at first, I grew to love this name as the act of creating stems from inspiration. I tend to think of getting inspiration like wishing on shooting stars. If you can catch it, then the ideas will burst into space.
These aren't ordinary stars; they are star fragments based on the Japanese candy called konpeito. When I was a child, I was watching an episode of Hamtaro where the hamsters became obsessed with "diamonds of sugar" (konpeito). They believed these "diamonds of sugar" were actual stars and spent the whole episode trying to climb to the sky and grab the stars. Like Hamtaro, a part of me desperately wants to believe I can catch the stars, too.
