Christmas is my favorite holiday, not because of the gifts, but because it's a time I get to be surrounded by my loved ones. The music, the lights, the decorations, and the sweet treats all warm my heart in a way no other holiday can. I always feel like the world is collectively taking a deep breath to rest and reset before the new year.
Nora and her black cat are the embodiment of my Christmas spirit. Both Nora and her cat are outcasts from society, as pink hair often represents a break from conformity, and black cats tend to be seen as bad luck. Together, they are able to challenge the norms of society, finding home in each other and celebrating their individualities. Dressing the Christmas tree together shows their deep connection, especially through Nora's calm demeanor despite the cat's inevitable chaos about to ensue. Their bond remains strong as they find comfort in each other.
I think it's important to remind people of their impact on our lives. Physical gifts are not the only way to show love; we also have words to give. Writing a letter to someone who feels like home can be a great Christmas gift, I think.
