Love Struck

Inspired by the song "Tsunami" by NIKI, I wanted to make a holiday card to encapsulate the feeling of being struck by love. The song consists of dreamy instrumentals combined with electronic sound effects that create a complementary contrast between emotional shock and softness. I particularly love the gentle verses that transition to the chorus, exclaiming: F*CK! I think I'm falling for you. There is something profound and exhilarating about the feeling of falling for someone. 

To capture this intense feeling of love, I illustrated a girl who is caught off guard as if she were stuck in a daydream. As the girl gazes off-camera, I can't help but wonder what has her attention. Just like the song, I wanted to play with etherealness and crudeness by using socially inappropriate language with a gentle facial expression. It's as if the girl is "drowning" in her feelings despite trying so hard to be subtle. Saying a bold word like "F*CK" is to accept one's fate. 

Sometimes, it's easier to confess all of these feelings in a card.
